Mercedes is a multi-racial woman mixed with Black, White, and Native from the White Earth Ojibwa Tribe. She has specialized in behavior in education for 8 years. Her love for shoes, and art connected her with the students she worked with. Customizing shoes started off as a hobby. After many inquiries for custom sandals, she turned her hobby into a business called Sprinkle My Feet.
Her love and passion for teaching is what led her to creating short social stories called SMF toons for kids. Working every Summer as a Servant Leader intern for Freedom Schools she understood the importance of culturally relevant teaching. As an educator she noticed how outdated and racially bias most curriculum in the public schools were. Her stories are fun, and represents today's generation.
Sprinkle My Feet also hosts in person/ virtual birthday parties teaching kids how to customize and design their own shoes.
